My mother would always have fresh cut flowers in the house. She would leave each day for work wearing a large bouquet of sweet peas as a corsage, freshly picked during the summer and fall months from her flower and vegetable garden. Flowers mesmerize because their intoxicating beauty, colour, shape, numerous varieties and perfume. When I paint flowers I like to create movement with texture and vivid intense colours.
